Pendant pr\u00e8s d’un si\u00e8cle, l’universit\u00e9 du Michigan a poss\u00e9d\u00e9 un morceau de papier qu’elle consid\u00e9rait comme \u00ab\u00a0l’un des joyaux\u00a0\u00bb de sa biblioth\u00e8que<\/b>. Ce document, dont on pense qu’il a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crit en 1609 et 1610 par l’astronome et physicien Galileo Galilei, contient une lettre sign\u00e9e par le scientifique d\u00e9crivant un nouveau t\u00e9lescope et des croquis de lunes en orbite autour de Jupiter. L’universit\u00e9 a affirm\u00e9 qu’il s’agissait des \u00ab\u00a0premi\u00e8res donn\u00e9es d’observation montrant des objets en orbite autour d’un corps autre que la Terre\u00a0\u00bb. <\/p>\n

Galil\u00e9e a bien utilis\u00e9 un nouveau t\u00e9lescope en 1610 pour d\u00e9couvrir que des lunes orbitaient autour de Jupiter – une d\u00e9couverte qui a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9tayer la th\u00e9orie h\u00e9liocentrique de Nicolas Copernic – mais il n’a pas r\u00e9dig\u00e9 le manuscrit, a annonc\u00e9 l’universit\u00e9 la semaine derni\u00e8re \u00e0 la suite d’une enqu\u00eate. Le document a \u00e9t\u00e9 falsifi\u00e9 au 20e si\u00e8cle, tr\u00e8s probablement par un certain Tobia Nicotra…. <\/p>\n
