Lorsque nous recherchons des exoplan\u00e8tes (plan\u00e8tes situ\u00e9es en dehors de notre syst\u00e8me solaire), nous sommes en mesure de rep\u00e9rer les baisses de luminosit\u00e9 lorsqu&#8217;elles passent devant leur \u00e9toile m\u00e8re. Ce n&#8217;est pas une mince affaire, mais nous en avons d\u00e9couvert <a href=\"https:\/\/exoplanetarchive.ipac.caltech.edu\/docs\/exonews_archive.html#:~:text=August%2011%2C%202023&amp;text=The%20other%20planets%20are%20HD,%2C%20and%20WASP%2D189%20b.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">5 502<\/a>. Ce n&#8217;est pas mal, si l&#8217;on consid\u00e8re que nous n&#8217;avons d\u00e9couvert notre premi\u00e8re plan\u00e8te qu&#8217;en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolsobservatory.org\/learn\/astro\/exoplanets\/history#:~:text=The%20first%20exoplanet%20was%20discovered,in%20the%20system%2C%20named%20Draugr.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1992<\/a>.   <\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9couverte d&#8217;objets dans notre propre syst\u00e8me solaire est un peu plus compliqu\u00e9e et implique de trouver o\u00f9 regarder en observant le mouvement d&#8217;autres objets. Neptune a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couverte apr\u00e8s que l&#8217;astronome et math\u00e9maticien Urbain Le Verrier a remarqu\u00e9 une diff\u00e9rence entre l&#8217;orbite observ\u00e9e d&#8217;Uranus et la fa\u00e7on dont la physique newtonienne pr\u00e9disait son orbite. Il a calcul\u00e9 que l&#8217;orbite pouvait s&#8217;expliquer par l&#8217;influence gravitationnelle d&#8217;une plan\u00e8te situ\u00e9e au-del\u00e0 d&#8217;Uranus.
